Raspberries are a powerhouse of nutrition and they are growing EVERYWHERE these days. Walking through most parks and forests right now, you are treated to feast of these little red ‘tasties’. The health benefits they offer are as plentiful as this year’s crop:
1.Ellagic acid
A publication by the American Cancer Society called “The American Cancer Society’s Guide to Complementary and Alternative Cancer Methods” stated that ellagic acid promotes the death of cancer cells without harming normal cells.
2.Anthocyanins
Anthocyanins have the ability to decrease inflammation by inhibiting one of the body’s key inflammatory compounds, cyclooxygenase (COX). This is the same chemical that the once popular (ever since they got sued for billions) drug Vioxx acted on.
3.Fiber
Raspberries contain 8g of fiber per cup, making them one of the most high-fiber foods on the planet. Your bowel is going to love that!
Happy picking,
Josh

Raspberries are a heavily sprayed crop. Choose organic sources or better yet, pick them yourself.
